That 70's Soul Partay Inspirations

We can’t talk about the 70s without talkin about DIANA ROSS! Come’on NOW! Diana Ross was a huge icon for fashion, think of Beyonce in the 1970’s. Her looks often changed but I found a look that seems realistic with what most of us ladies have in our closets. Let’s start with her hair: it is BIG and curled out wavy and funky. You don’t need an afro but teasing ones hair or curling it in sections for volume is doable. It’s best to use heated set rollers rather than a curling iron because the rollers create more depth. Her jewelry: turquoise jewelry that has a geometric feel brings a feel you could emulate in your own style. You could use stones, beads, primarily larger pieces that are natural emulate a more 1970’s feel. But be creative and use your own style that you think you would dress during that time! Her dress: a white halter top dress that is most likely a maxi dress. The long dresses were leftover from the 1960’s hippie flowing skirt but managed to stay in during the 1970’s, I’m sure you at least got ONE in yo closet! Her makeup: although it may be hard to see, her cheeks are very glowy in this shot and using very vivid warm blushes paired with bronze creates a very 1970’s look that one can easily do. Have fun and don’t be afraid to strut yo’ stuff!
